The website was designed by Jacopo Perico, and built by me with Kirby CMS. For the development part, it was agreed to make something extremely easy to maintain and update, which would simply host a digital gallery of artworks. Among other options, Kirby seemed to me an interesting one for its peculiar flat-file structure and the robustness of php, a language that I had little knowledge of, by developing WordPress themes.
The setup and staging process was extremely quick, it was possible to set up the panel and connect it with the front end in minutes, without the need for all the unnecessary features that a full WordPress backend provides. Even if I never tested Kirby on larger projects, I would back up this choice as a secure and efficient one when it comes to small-scale websites.
